... and have the body of the message include the words "this morning" in a sentence.

Now open up the email you received and hover your mouse over that part.

It recognizes this as a date for iCal integration.

yeah, a popup list appears on top of the text as you hover over it, with the choices.

Works with other phrases, too, such as "this evening".

Same thing with dates, and time-sensitive information.
