. . .some listed as Limited Availability. . .and I tested to see if I could pickup in-store but didn't seem to work, so you have to factor in shipping costs too. . .

One possibility is that the B&M stores needed the floor space whereas the warehouse already had them stored AND the movie cos. compensated BB.com for keeping the copies and trying to sell them though.
What is curious to me is why we haven't seen any HD-DVD blowout deals. I thought for sure we'd see some $10 deals.

. . .I agree. . .haven't seen any new HD DVD sales. . .if anything the prices seem to have gone up a bit or not moved at all. . .the rare ones overseas have seen prices go up (if they haven't been sold out already). .. some prices for 1 dvd have doubled. . .

Makes you kind of wonder if Toshiba is going to jump back in with HD-DVD again since Blu-Ray is not doing as well as expected. Toshiba would have to keep the prices on both equipment and DVDs lower than Sony.
