"None Shall Pass !" Nuns not allowed to vote in Indiana Democratic Primary - cbelt3 - 05-07-2008

Does this indicate a Democratic Party jihad against Catholics ? is the Rev Wright behind it somhow?

naah- they were actually turned away by another Nun who was working as an election official- these elderly nuns didn't have proper state ID.

But it made for a funny tagline.

When we were young, lovestruck college students many years ago, Mrs. Poochie and I used to spend quality time, er, um, discussing theology and such parked in my car next to the Saint Mary's convent.

One time, we caught one of the nuns peeking at us. Bad sister!

Ah yes. I can recall going to the Saturday 5PM mass with my date. We called it the "date mass", and felt that going empirically provided dispensation for what we were about to do.

Jeebus - anyone that has remotely watched their local news knew that a photo ID wa needed.
There was U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding the law just a few months ago.

The state will supply at no charge a valid ID through the license branch.

My mother is 85 years old and hasn't driven a car in 40+ years and she has had a photo ID for a couple years.

I don't necessarily agree with the law but I understand that it is what is required.
Also it aids in expansion of "vote centers" which the state is implementing.
My county has been a "vote center" pilot the last two elections.

I don't have to vote in my precinct. I can vote anywhere in the county on election day
Great for folks that work far away from their homes, Also I could have voted at the grocery store
all week before election day.

No sympathy for the clueless.

Confession made Catholicism the religion of choice for many young unmarrieds.
