Installing Adobe CS3 on Intel versus G5 machines question. - threeprong - 05-07-2008

WHen installing ADobe Cs3 on an Intel machine vs. a G5, does the installer install a completely different version of the application or is it a Universal binary app?

I'm mostly just curious since I'm building up a new MacBook Pro with fresh installs.

I do see a Bootstrapper.dmg file so, I'm just curious if the same code is getting laid down on the HD or the installers are CPU aware.

I just checked Photoshop on a G5 and on an Intel Mac, they both have the exact same file size. So I'm guessing it's the same code.

It's Universal Binary. I run Photoshop under Rosetta because a have a couple 3rd party filters that I just can't live without.

Don't know about the Bootstrapper DMG file.

Oh yeah, swampy brings up a good point. It can be run under Rosetta under an Intel Mac, so there's your answer too.
