Mail.app = any way to paste a web page with clickable links? - Zoidberg - 05-07-2008

Try as I might, every time I copy & paste a web page's info, the links are not clickable. They're there, they're underlined (or bold or whatever formatting), but they're never clickable. I could have sworn I used to be able to do this.

Am I missing/forgetting something? The page of info is too lengthy to add the links in the body of the email (though I give a link to the page itself to my clients in said email; long story as to why I have to do both -- engineering company and they want to read the list as well as get a link to the page; think Dilbert).

If you mean you're trying to email someone a link to a web page just paste the link in the message body and Mail will convert it upon sending.

If the recipient is still not getting a clickable link you can go to Edit>Link>Add and add a link that way.

Yes.

In Safari, press command-I. It will open a copy of the web page in Mail. The recipient will be able to click the links, but you can't while you are composing the message unless you right-click the link and select open link.

karsen; no, not the link to the page. It'd be as if you copied the text on this page, including that which is linked text.

DharmaDog; spot-on; that's it. And, of course, there's an option like that in OmniWeb as well; I just kept reading right past it as I looked at various options under File, Edit, etc.

Many thanks!

[added] FWIW, my "copy & paste a section of the page" thing works as well; I just kept trying to test the links *while* I was composing the message. D'oh!
