Sound problems on Intel iMac - celliott - 05-08-2008 I have a 17" Intel iMac C2D, 2GHz, running Leopard, 2GB ram and all current hardware updates. Since it's at my office, I haven't done much with audio. Lately I've started listening to music through iTunes. The problem? At low volume levels the sound cuts out. It sounds like someone using a voice activated microphone. I did some further checking and it happens when playing movies also. It seems like any low volume audio is dropped. I'm not a novice and have used Macs since 1986. I currently have two iMacs and the family has 3 MacBooks. The same audio I tried at my office (and movies) play just fine on my 20"iMac at home. Any thoughts? Is there a known problem or is this isolated? Or maybe I'm missing something. Thanks celliott Re: Sound problems on Intel iMac - anonymouse1 - 05-08-2008 If you're using USB for audio, there may be a difference between the two USB ports. Re: Sound problems on Intel iMac - celliott - 05-08-2008 not doing anything with the USB ports- this is straight audio coming out of the speakers (or not coming out, as the case may be) Re: Sound problems on Intel iMac - BigGuynRusty - 05-08-2008 [quote celliott]I have a 17" Intel iMac C2D, 2GHz, running Leopard, 2GB ram and all current hardware updates. Sounds like a hardware problem. Try logging in as a different user first though. BGnR Re: Sound problems on Intel iMac - celliott - 05-08-2008 I'll give that a try. |
