lack luster bathtub - kap - 05-10-2008

Our bathtub in our master bathroom has lost its shine. What is the least expensive way to bring some luster back to it besides having it re-polished $$$$? TiA

They got real popular after the Hurricane. (their ads and website stuck in my head from the heavy media blitz)

I've not heard anything bad about them.. May be a similar biz in your neck of the woods.

Kap,

It's a "bathfitters" type operation. So, run. don't walk. Run. They are not worth it in a spare bathroom and I'd never ever have somethinbg like that done in a master bathroom. I've seen the quality of the work done by places like that at home shows and form a distance it looks nice but up close and personal it's horrible.

You'd be much better off having the tub reglazed. A quality reglazing will cost under $500.00 and usually has a five-year warranty. This assumes you don't have an acrylic tub. I'm not sure you can have an acrylic tub reglazed.

Reglazing is done right on the spot. The tub doesn't get removed and they can usually finish the job in a single day.
