Just talked to B&H...they have 37 of these in stock. He couldn't confirm it, but was guessing that it comes with a 'flat pack' of Leopard. What are the odds of selling these on fleabay for a profit? No completed items history of brand new in the box items, but used one in mint condition have sold for nearly as much.

Carnos,

Not worth the effort especially since they're powerpc models.

No telling with ebay, but I certainly wouldn't buy one at that price - especially when you can get a MacBook for less. I might bite at $500 but 700 is pushing it.

Weird deal.

Afraid you might be right guys. Don't think there'll be too much of a risk for loss (or much loss anyway), but can't see making enough (if any) to be worthwhile. But why do I feel compelled never-the-less? Something about owning old Mac hardware that is brand new in the box condition. But that would make sense only if it were a classic model of some kind. Don't know if this qualifies (and by "classic" I don't mean able to boot in OS 9).

Yeah, that iBook will run Classic, so long as you don't upgrade to Leopard...

I thought Leopard supported Classic IF the original hardware supported it. No?

"Do Classic applications work with Mac OS X 10.5 or Intel-based Macs?

Classic applications do not work on Intel processor-based Macs or with Mac OS X 10.5.

Upgrade your Mac OS 9 applications to Mac OS X versions. Check with an application's manufacturer for more information."

I got that little rush when I saw this.

Then I remembered that I bought my C2D 1.83 for $400 off Craigslist .

Guess I won't be buying one either.

Got the same little urge . . .
Do this. Start at the top, find the late '07 macbook. Then continue down the chart until you find the G4 1.42 iBook.
