Went to the Chiropractor today-- and he uses iMacs! - Grumpyguy - 05-14-2008 Had my first visit with the chiropractor today. Started with the decompression therapy. The doctor only charges $35 for the therapy per visit. He explained, as someone else noted, that most DCs charge $5000 for 20 visits, but that he couldn't charge that for something that helped people. Additionally, he said it should only take 12 visits and things should be much better. I had been told that this chiropractor was very honest and it seems to be true. I had my first decompression therapy--just think of the rack, without the torture : ) After the swelling went down today, I actually feel somewhat better. Not much, but I feel 2% better, which considering how much pain I'm in, is a great improvement. In addition, his office is powered by iMacs and his manipulation machine runs OS X. I'll let you know how the treatment goes for my bulging discs..... Re: Went to the Chiropractor today-- and he uses iMacs! - Black Landlord - 05-15-2008 Good luck- keep us posted. Often doctors only charge that low if they're getting you in and out. Is that cash? Sometimes they offer a discount for a "plan" (a way of offering a discount for cash without actually doing that [because they can't.]) But the $5k for 20 visits... I've never, ever heard of anyone charging even close to that. Most insurance companies will not let DCs charge that much. That's $250/visit. Many charge closer to $50 to $75 per "adjustment." Now, if they're offering other services while you're there like massage and such, the price per visit goes up. Re: Went to the Chiropractor today-- and he uses iMacs! - Tommie Milwaukee - 05-15-2008 I have more than a passing interest in this therapy, since my MRI showed 2 bulging disks and a torn disk. I've been to a chiropractor for adjustments and am currently in physical therapy. they tell me that injections are the next step, but I'm interested in the spinal decompression therapy. Does insurance cover it? Re: Went to the Chiropractor today-- and he uses iMacs! - olnacl - 05-15-2008 I went through what is described above years ago with excellent results. Without telling the chiropractor what my doctor's prescription for PT was, he suggested exactly the same therapy after looking at my xrays and evaluating my condition - decompression, and heat massage, adding adjustment. The cost of going to outpatient therapy was 4x what I paid the chiropractor per visit. In my case, neither was covered by insurance - I had none. I wish you the best of luck and success with your treatment!! Re: Went to the Chiropractor today-- and he uses iMacs! - Rolando - 05-15-2008 $250 is lot for a rub'n'tug! Re: Went to the Chiropractor today-- and he uses iMacs! - qdog - 05-21-2008 My chiropractor charges $35 per visit also. |
