The only way I know how is to Print --> Save as PDF.

Drag it to the Desktop.

Received email is automatically saved.

Where is it saved to?

I believe there's a difference in saving whether you are using POP or IMAP. From what I've observed, you have to manually copy IMAP mail to your HDD (it remains on the server) whereas POP is copied automatically. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Mail Question? - Norm - 05-20-2008

I just discovered a work around for this. I created
a (Saved Email) folder in the left margin and am able to
drag and drop the Email that I want to save in this folder.

I'm so confused, Norm.

Does the left column have an Inbox? Isn't all your incoming e-mail there?

Norm

You need to specify what kind of email account you're talking about. Is it your ISP POP account or a gmail/hotmail/similar type of account.

In any case you set the rules for how the mail is handled.

In Mail, open Mail Preferences. Select Accounts. Select Advanced. Pick the Account in question and configure as you desire.

In the gmail/hotmail type accounts, you usually leave them on the server. To get them on your Mac, either print to PDF and then file by sender or subject or whatever you choose.

You can actually use Mail in Leopard to retrieve your gmail and store it locally. Mail Preferences will do this for you. Try reading up in Mail Help.

Mail typically stores all email in Home/Library/Mail/POP accounts. It will be in file format, not something you can click on and read. It will have a format type and number. Try guessing which one you are interested in.

Incoming mail works fine. I just wanted to be able to save certain Email
and be able to access at a later date. In Yahoo mail you select Move/saved Email
and it is put in the Saved Email Folder.
