imac intel memory upgrade - Caroline - 05-30-2008 Hey Guys, Just a couple of questions. I'm trying to upgrade the memory of my 24 inch intel core 2 duo iMac. I went to deal ram, which suggested 2x1GB chips for $88 (described to work with iMacs) and $80 (should be the same type, but not guaranteed for macs). So, two questions, is it worth the extra $8 to ensure it will work? Second, the macs listed for the first "guaranteed" chips don't include mine. Are all intel iMac memory chips the same? You can buy a 4GB kit for $95+shipping from OWC, of which your computer will either see 3.25GB or all 4GB depending on which exact model you have. I'd like to go with a company that has a warranty, especially after tracking down a problem with my ibook to a bad ram chip, which actually probably had a warranty but alas, I lost the info long ago. so, back to my questions, will these chips work?
