Which video card is the price to performance winner in a MacPro? - loveshine - 05-30-2008 I think it's clear the the 8 Core 2.8 MacPro is the best price to performance value machine but what about the video card for Motion and Final Cut Pro work? Is the video card something that makes sense to add later like ram and hard drives? Could I keep the stock 256mb card in for one display and add the other one for the Graphics engine? Re: Which video card is the price to performance winner in a MacPro? - jdc - 05-30-2008 yet to be released ATI radeon 3870 will be the best bang for the buck 256 meg card will run 2 monitors no sweat Re: Which video card is the price to performance winner in a MacPro? - Filliam H. Muffman - 05-30-2008 I seem to remember ATI Radeon 2600 works a little better with Motion and the Nvidia 8800 GT works better in games. I agree with what jdc said, the Radeon 3870 is expected to be the best all around card whenever it ships in Mac Pro.
