Have anyone here ever had to add another handset to your existing unit? Also, must the additional one be of the same model and maker? TiA

you cant just buy one and have it work -- the base unit needs to be designed to work with the extra handsets...

The 2 handset Panasonic unit we bought from Best Buy does indicate that one to two additional handsets can be added. Are you saying that I must find one/s of the exact model, maker and features?

well, i "assumed" that you only had one handset, since you didnt mention having 2
i have a panasonic unit (5632) with 1 extra, when i bought it i was under the impression that it had to be the exact model to match...

What coincident! A friend just told me that he has a $20 off coupon on a Panasonic 4 handset cordless phone unit! I am returning the 2 handset unit to BB this weekend ... got it a little a week ago. The 4 handset offers better, clearer and longer transmission range. So I do take your advice

Otherwise, yes, you need to match the model. I added a couple of handsets to my Panasonic setup - there were 2 model numbers that were compatible.
