GPS questions - space-time - 06-03-2008

Do these GPS units run a flavor of Windows or Linux? besides TomTom and Garmin, what else is good? any thoughts about the entry models form Navigon or Magellan?

My Tom Tom runs Linux. It has worked great.

I have a small Navigon that I bought for visitors to use. Compared to Garmin (which I also use) It's way down on the list. Mostly because of the time it takes to enter a destination and get the initial fix.

Our TomTom works great.
GFs dad bought an iWay brand, it is very difficult to use compared to ours.
