I only posted it, not because the new iPhone is a bad product, but because people posted having problems and it seems more people are having problems getting on iTunes servers. I believe there were problems with the first iphone...and there always is with the first products.

I would think, however, with the anticipation of the iPhone that the servers would have been upped and in place to serve the huge anticipated demand.

It's the first day. People have to chill.

Re: New iPhone bugged by software problems - jdc - 07-11-2008

i hear what you are saying -- but still you mis-summarized the article

the iPhone is NOT "bugged by software problems" m-- your words -- but the SERVERS are

iphones are fine...

Re: New iPhone bugged by software problems - Silencio - 07-11-2008

The servers are bugged by problems, or just simply overloaded?

Apple would have been a bit smarter to roll out the 2.0 firmware for existing iPhone owners some time before they released the iPhone 3G itself. Would have saved their servers getting slammed simultaneously by two large groups of people, no?

OK, I don't want to argue. My choice of words is not always the best. I'll give you one....THIS TIME!:-)

Re: New iPhone bugged by software problems - bfd - 07-11-2008

bfd updated yesterday using a link from AppleInsider. The update went flawlessly, and since there weren't 9 million other users trying to get into the queue, the whole process took less than 15 minutes (including the re-syncing and reloading of files). Downloaded a few of the free iApps from iTunes Store last night as well. Some are keepers. Haven't paid for any apps yet, but there are a few that look promising.

Bottom line, there's no software problems. Bandwidth issues yes, but that's no different from the first day of launch last June. Apple still hasn't figured out how to deal with that volume of demand on such a short-term basis.

Their stock price fell, too.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
