TSA locks - samintx - 08-23-2008 I would assume the major countries like France , England, Germany TSA would have the keys to unlock your bag but in 3rd world countries, lesser European countries can you use these locks? It is the 3rd world countries I worry about what is in the bag more than the afore named countries. Have you had experience with the locks in say Africa, India, Malaysia etc Re: TSA locks - yeoman - 08-23-2008 I don't use locks 'cause you never know if the bag has been opened - something stolen or something put in! Instead I use two different coloured nylon ties. They're hard to cut and if still there I'm pretty certain the bag hasn't been opened. That is what I use also....and many times the ties come thru uncut! so I know the bag has not been opened but I wondered if I should use locks sometimes. Guess I'm on the right track. Thanks. Re: TSA locks - Ombligo - 08-23-2008 oddball color ziptie here too. If it comes out different, i know immediately Re: TSA locks - JoeBob - 08-23-2008 I am another that uses the colored cable ties. Never had one cut. Re: TSA locks - graylocks - 08-24-2008 [quote JoeBob]I am another that uses the colored cable ties. Never had one cut. so where does one find these cable ties? hardware store? Re: TSA locks - M>B> - 08-24-2008 Electrical Dept. of a big box home store. May be your local Ace or etc. Re: TSA locks - RAMd®d - 08-24-2008 You guys have never seen the TSA Cable Tie Locker. 1,001 manufacturers and colors, shapes and sizes. I don't do checked luggage so a lock or tie decision has never been a part of my itinerary. But if it were, I'd probably add a lot to custom ties so that it could be locked after a bone fide inspection. |
