I'd bet HELOC loans paid for a lot of that stuff.

Let's just hope this isn't one of those situations where some nice couple comes back from a week in Daytona to find their house gutted by craigslist bandits.

what's the problem? i'm not sure we know any of the background in this particular case.

True, it's not a problem. It's more of a phenomenon. The gutting of a brand new, presumably million-dollar or more home.
