I'd get it from our hosts, but I need to lay m y hands on one immediately... and I'm not from LA (I'm visiting to ork on a friend's rig).
Can someone tell me where to go to pick up one of these doohickeys in the Los Feliz/ Hollywood area?

I'd head to the Frys in Woodland Hills.
I don't know for sure that they'd have the adapter, but I think it's your best shot.

you could always pick up a SATA to USB case instead, about $20 at frys
not sure if i have ever seen that device at my frys

You can walk to Fry's Burbank. (Airport) WH is 25 bumper to bumper miles or more. What is an ork rig?:coffee:

Thanks for the Frys suggestion- I was able to pick up the 2 parts of the adapter that I didn't bring with me for $14. Traffic from Los Feliz wasn't too bad, either!
