How does this compare to the budget 24", E248WFP? I don't care about the USB ports or adjustable stand (my monitor is on a VESA desktop arm).
Is the screen THAT much better for the 2408WFP? I do not do photography, as I understand that is what the real difference would be.

The 24-inch and larger UltraSharps do not use TN screens.

better viewing angle, better for photos and better for flat color
sounds like you move your monitor around some? if so, be prepared to move your head with it...
if you can stop by an apple store see if you can look at a 20" imac vs a 20" display
