Opinion: Seagate vs Hitachi HD - Joey Cupcakes - 10-17-2008 I was bitten by the IBM Deathstar problem several years ago and have since strictly gone with Seagate and it's 5-year warranty. (Seagate has not been perfect either, but pretty close.) IBM hard drives, of course, were absorbed by Hitachi. With Hitachi 1TB drives now available below $100 (after rebate), it's time to ask: has Hitachi earned back the trust of power users? The Hitachis and WD's & Samsungs have all been flawless.... Just another drive now. |
