using Eudora from an away ISP - Fritz - 10-17-2008

I'm trying to send mail from the road using Eudora. The "local" ISP SMTP is imailhost.worldnet.att.net.
I get - server not responding.
I've configured "esoteric" settings and port and protocols as I've found here
http://www.wurd.com/cl_email_eudora_mac_gia.php
and "submission" port 587.
Still no joy. Any suggestions?
Trying to use my home ISP sits in "preparing to transfer..." and goes no where.

The instructions in that link say to use port 465, where did you come up with 587 from?

Re: using Eudora from an away ISP - Fritz - 10-18-2008

I tried port 465. Then I noticed a setting in Eu regarding "submission port 587". So I tried that too.
No matter, can't get out from this att firewall with Eu. I can only send mail from the webmail of my home ISP.
Feh!!

It's quite possible that they do not have an SMTP server set up were you are.

others are using Mail with NP. But perhaps they're using gmail.
