using Eudora from an away ISP - Fritz - 10-17-2008 I'm trying to send mail from the road using Eudora. The "local" ISP SMTP is imailhost.worldnet.att.net. I get - server not responding. I've configured "esoteric" settings and port and protocols as I've found here http://www.wurd.com/cl_email_eudora_mac_gia.php and "submission" port 587. Still no joy. Any suggestions? Trying to use my home ISP sits in "preparing to transfer..." and goes no where. Re: using Eudora from an away ISP - DewGuy - 10-18-2008 The instructions in that link say to use port 465, where did you come up with 587 from? Re: using Eudora from an away ISP - Fritz - 10-18-2008 I tried port 465. Then I noticed a setting in Eu regarding "submission port 587". So I tried that too. No matter, can't get out from this att firewall with Eu. I can only send mail from the webmail of my home ISP. Feh!! Re: using Eudora from an away ISP - Harbourmaster - 10-18-2008 It's quite possible that they do not have an SMTP server set up were you are. Re: using Eudora from an away ISP - Fritz - 10-18-2008 others are using Mail with NP. But perhaps they're using gmail. |
