Just found an older box that contains it, and my allergies have been hella crazy this week. That stuff is great, nothing seems to completely work as well although I cut the pill in half because it's not good for my blood pressure I don't think and the full dose can make my brain a touch flaky. OK, flakier. No, I'm not a meth user; thanks for asking though.

You can get it without a scrip. You just need to give your ID and sign it out to prove you're not likely to make large quantities of meth.

It's a state by state matter. Oregon requires a prescription.

Phenylephrine (brand name Neo-Synephrine) has similar vasocontricting action as pseudoephedrine but doesn't last as long. Easy to find in name brand or generic form.

Doesn't work well for me, so I end up buying some of the "real " stuff once or twice a year to handle serious congestion. I understand this lack of effect is a problem for others as well.

I recently re-stocked the my first aid kit in my car and could get neither pseudoephedrine nor ipecac.
I asked for some at the prescription counter of several pharmacies and was told that they no longer give it out. One pharmacist tried to order ipecac for me and told me that it's been discontinued. (WTF?!!)
Talk about f-ing "nanny state" BS!
What do parents of children with severe allergies do without ipecac? Just hope the epi-stick works and the ambulance gets there in time?

The use of ipecac to induce vomiting in poisoning cases is no longer recommended. So most of the producers stopped making it.
