anti-glare film from power support - simonm - 10-18-2008

I noticed an anti-glare film for the iPhone on the Apple online shop. When I went to the manufacturers website http://www.powersupportusa.com/products/ef.php?category=pb, I found they have anti-glare film for macbooks et al. Has anyone used these? Would this be a decent alternative to a matt display? I have not bought a macbook or a new iMac mainly because I want to stick with matt. Are there any other good anti-glare products out there?

(My 12" pb is begining to look a bit dodgy so I'd like to replace it. My plan B is to get the msi wind and see if can get leopard onto it but I am not really excited about having to spend ages fiddling around trying to get it installed and having to worry about whether the next update breaks it again.)

I have the anti-glare on my iPhone.

It does decrease brightness and seems to lessen the resolution. It is less crisp.

This may not be as noticeable on a Macbook, but I am sure it will affect it somewhat.

I was very anti gloss for my MBP until I got a super deal on one, and frankly, I have changed. I really like the gloss better than matte.
