How to change browser settings? - SteveO - 10-19-2008

I used to be able to simply type in a name, like "netflix" and not "netflix.com" and my browser would just find Netflix. Now it seems Roadrunner has taken my browsers hostage. Now when I type in "Netflix", it takes me to a Roadrunner error page which is terrifically annoying. I know there has to be a simple settings fix to get my MacBook 2.4 on 10.5.3 and Camino, FF and Safari browsers to forget Roadrunner ever existed. Please share. Thanks.

You need to go to the RoadRunner set up page. They have preferences for your account. You can disable that setting there.

The link is somewhere on the RoadRunner error page.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, the setting was near the top right of the error page if it happens to anyone else...click on "Why am I here?"

Fire Roadrunner. I did 6-years ago.

In firefox:

n e t f l i x + cmd + enter = www.netflix.com

d a r i n g f i r e b a l l + shift + enter = www.daringfireball.net

s l a s h d o t + cmd + shift + enter = www.slashdot.org

(if the sites don't use 'www,' they will lop it off automatically)
