How to make a backup copy of a Wii game? On a Mac, I mean. - deckeda - 11-09-2008 I put a Wii disk in my mini and had to reboot it with the mouse pressed in order to get the disk out. An external burner I have just spits it right out. Read something about having to buy a mod chip for the console, something about having to track down 1 of 4 LG optical drives just so the disks can be read, something about buying Game Copy Pro ... Before I go through all the hassle of that (not to mention installing Windows on my Mac) is there another way? Re: How to make a backup copy of a Wii game? On a Mac, I mean. - timg - 11-09-2008 No, pretty much I think you need a specific type of DVD drive to read it. After you read it, you might need a mod chip to play the copy. I never got motivated enough to look into it further. Re: How to make a backup copy of a Wii game? The drives are: LG-8164b or LG-8163b or LG-8162b They are still available on eBay eBay link Re: How to make a backup copy of a Wii game? You will also need to mod your Wii optical drive to read copied discs. |
