Safari question - voodoopenguin - 11-24-2008

In Firefox it is possible to see all the passwords it stores for different websites. You cannot directly print them out but a screen shot can be taken. Is there a similar facility to view them in Safari?

Open the Keychain application and you can see all your passwords

Re: Safari question - voodoopenguin - 11-24-2008

Just tried your suggestion but cannot actually view the passwords. Right clicking on a line gives the option to copy the password but the only way I can see it is if I then paste into something. Firefox gave me a list of sites with their passwords. What am I missing in Keychain?

On the left hand side of the window there is a category window - one option is passwords

Click on the triangle to drop open the passwords and there are several choices - Applications , Internet etc ...

Click on Internet and it will show all of your sites - double click any of them and a box will open
Down at the bottom check the "show password" box

It will ask for your user password and then show you that sites password
You can opt for "show always" at this point if you wish

OK, got that and found some passwords. Only appears to list 14 but there should be many more than that. I wonder where the others are.

Are they web passwords ? They should be there unless you told Safari not to save when the prompt box came up.

Also look under other categories (certificates etc ...)

There is also a search box in the upper right hand corner that might help.

Sorry, thanks for keeping with me but I made a mistake. When I went back to Keychain after your instructions I forgot to first click on my user name (top left) so it was on LogIn. They've all come up now.

Thank you for your patience.
