It wasn't during the campaign but looks like it is OK now for some reason.

During the campaign the Republicans tried to use his middle name to suggest that Obama has terrorist leanings, to connect him to the Middle East and violence. Never mind that Kenya, where Obama's father was from, is an ally of the United States, and never mind that the United States is the author of much of the violence in Iraq at least.

Anyway, I do think someone should be able to use their own name.

I was under the impression that only serial killers and assassins used their middle names. (refer to the film Conspiracy Theory)
Middle initials, now. That's OK !

In the best tradition of classic politicians, he feels it is safe to come out now. It is the same pattern with Wright and Ayres etc. They were nowhere to be seen or heard. As soon as the election was over and they knew they won't hurt him, they all got a shot of courage and started making the rounds.

After all the misleading statements and incompetence that is Iraq, I find it karmic that the policies of the current administration get to be repudiated by a candidate carrying the name Hussein.
If not karmic then decidedly ironic
