How do I make sure this watch is Genuine? - space-time - 12-18-2008 Let's say that I decided on a particular model (I am still not sure though) Directly from Tissot, $425 http://shop.tissot.ch/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=&Product_Code=T17151632&Category_Code=m_all or same model from JomaShop for $252 http://www.jomashop.com/tissot-t17151632.html How do I make sure I get a real Tissot watch and not a Chinese $10 replica? Also, JomaShop sells one that is NOT listed on Tissot's site, do you think it is real of fake? http://www.jomashop.com/tissot-t17-1-526-52.html (EDIT: correct link) Re: How do I make sure this watch is Genuine? - onthedownlow - 12-18-2008 I have purchased Tissot's from Jomashop before (I recommended the site to you in the other thread)...and they are genuine. Very reputable dealer - no replicas. You will get the original boxes, manuals, etc...just as if direct from Tissot (very cool/unique boxes sometimes for these watches). Both of your links point to the same product (not sure if that was intentional or not). I will purchase from them again with no worries. (they give great coupons/discounts via their email list too). Re: How do I make sure this watch is Genuine? - space-time - 12-18-2008 Thanks, I saw your recommendation in the other thread, and I start to believe it now. I was a little bit worried since they have a model for sale that is NOT on Tissot's site. maybe it's an older (discontinued?) model. Yes, both links point(ed) to the same watch, I made a mistake, I updated the link. Re: How do I make sure this watch is Genuine? - onthedownlow - 12-18-2008 Those are legit watches (even the ones Tissot isn't selling directly....likely discontinued model or less popular color). Tissot usually has various colors for models that sell for a while then they tend to widdle them down (i.e. discontinue). I think the main thing with buying directly (other than the markup for the 'direct contact') and/or from an authorized seller (since many places that sell them aren't either) is the difference in warranties directly from Tissot. Usually non-authorized sellers can only offer a year (I think) warranty from Tissot, and they make up for it themselves in other ways (price or their own-provided warranties). I've never had a problem with them (Tissot watches)...and that Jomashop has been around a long time, so if you don't like what you get, or isn't what you expected...you can easily return it with little hassle, I would imagine.
