My prediction: 15 days. - blusubaru - 03-11-2006
Ok, I think I'm finally ready to test my theory. New Apple products to be released 15 days after a bulk of new refurbs are received by their new owners.
So, after this recent round of G5 refurbs are received by their owners (beginning of this coming week), give it 15 days. That will put us close to that beginning of April Mac teaser (counting business days) we've heard about for a while.
What is to be released? My theory says new Power Macs. Notice I'm not saying Intel, but I'm not, not saying Intel. This is my first attempt at soothsaying, so if I turn up wrong, please don't stone me to death and let me return to my normal role.
Far be it from Apple to be this predictable though...

PowerMacs as in G5?
Sorry, Apple will not be introducing any new G4's or G5's.
Why would they? It would only show weakness to the market, it would show that Apple made a mistake.
Anyway, Intel's spec board is almost complete for the towers.

And yes, I agree with you. There will be new Macs. They will likely have things like USB, wireless capability, and copious RAM quantity. Let me also throw in a new "iBook" release prediction.

bigger and smaller MacBook Pro's, MacBook Amatuer's (iBooks), and the super-secret eduMac (intel core solo eMac, that will get such rave reviews, it will make its way back into the main consumer channel. lcd based instead of crt, but will have lexan screen protector)

13" iBook, iPod Video w/4" diag. screen, iTunes movie downloads for $2.99, and the super-secret 30th Anniversary Cube II which will blow us all away at $1200. I'll take 2 please.

LCD's already have a plastic LCD panel protector, it just have to be replaceable.

I could see silent upgrades to the PowerMacs...
Maybe some non-MB specific upgrade.
I think Intel Mac will need a slightly different appearance.

I agree we'll see some type of tower upgrade. Fall of this year seems a very long time to wait since the last "bump." One thing is certain, the top intel tower will have to be a beast to best the current G5 quad, even with universal apps.
