32" LCD TV + Kid = Good Entertainment Center Solution. - spacescape - 12-29-2008 I've just acquired a 32" Panasonic LCD (Model TC-32LX85) which is a few months old. I have an overly active 3-1/2 year old and a 1 year old and looking for a good solution to sit the TV on (far enough and possibly back as far as possible to keep sticky fingers off of it), the Onkyo Receiver, DVD, Cable Box and VCR. I'm thinking of hanging it however I occasionally like to move my room around. I'm just looking for a few suggestions. Ikea has lots of things that will work now that I don't really need to worry about how much the entertainment center can support. Oh, and I have a center speaker I don't know what to do with as of yet. Here is the TV I have. http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/shop/Televisions/VIERA-LCD-HDTVs/model.TC-32LX85_11002_7000000000000005702 Thanks for any suggestions. Bill Re: 32" LCD TV + Kid = Good Entertainment Center Solution. - jesse - 12-29-2008 We just bought an entertainment center/TV stand from Walmart. The bottom has three shelves for your components and there is a post on the back for mounting your TV (the TV ends up being about 3.5" high, well out of the way of sticky fingers). We had looked at just mounting the TV on the wall, but we would have still needed some kind of cabinet for game consoles and stereo components. I'd post a link, but I didn't see it on their website. The stand was $189.00 and comes with all the mounting hardware. Re: 32" LCD TV + Kid = Good Entertainment Center Solution. - spacescape - 12-29-2008 What color is it? White, Black or Natural? I'll go and check it out when I make a return to the dreaded Walmart. ![]() Re: 32" LCD TV + Kid = Good Entertainment Center Solution. - jesse - 12-29-2008 The one we bought is a black metal frame with glass shelves, but I believe that they had at 3 or 4 other options and at least one of them had a cherry finish. We're in a small town and our Walmart has a pretty limited selection, so they may have more designs available in a larger store. Re: 32" LCD TV + Kid = Good Entertainment Center Solution. - macphanatic - 12-29-2008 Why not take the stand off and hang it on the wall? If you don't do this, make sure that you secure the tv so that it can't be tipped over. |
