$99 refurb iphone warranty = 90 day, cant extend... - jdc - 12-30-2008

just got off the phone with ATT asking them about the refurb iphone -- apparently refurb iphones dont work the same way refurb macs do

90 day warranty and no applecare can extend it -- cant even be covered by the ATT $5/month repair plan... bummer

looked like a good deal, not so much anymore

I take it that they are coming from ATT, not apple?

that's the end of that then....weird that apple would allow that..

wow... so you can't put the SN into Apple's site and find you have 9~11 months of warranty left?

Refurbished iPhone 3G devices carry a warranty of 90 days or more. For details about the warranty on your refurbished iPhone 3G go to www.apple.com/support/oss/.

that was direct from the ATT rep -- who was very sharp and knew his stuff

i guess the only way to enter a serial number is to buy one...

They must have changed there policy, I bought the Iphone 2g refurb from ATT and I got a new one last week from warranty, I had the phone for 9 months. I need to go buy some apple care, hopefully no problems there.
