So I jumped on the Speck case sale. Two weeks after they took my money, and sent me a shipping notice, just now I received an email saying, "Sorry, we're out of stock. Would you like a refund or would you like to spend that money on one of our other products?"
How amazingly slimy! It took them two weeks to notice that they had failed to fulfill my order? And the refund should be automatic, with an offer of a discount if I want to buy something else.

Stephanie is right. I called and they very openly admitted they are completely overwhelmed. I ordered a purple case, I got notification that it had shipped and then nothing. The purple is out of stock and they sent me a red one overnight for delivery tomorrow (no extra charge.)
I'll keep you posted but if you call, ask for Eric. He was very helpful and quite apologetic.
I don't really think that I'd go so far as to call them slime. They admitted the problem (fairly quickly IMHO) and offered a reasonable solution.
I want my case and am willing to change to a different color. I'd be upset if they canceled my order and offered a refund without seeing if they could move me into another product. You aren't happy with the solution, so why not call them and ask for an alternative?

Yeah, I bought my Speck case from Amazon too. Never thought of buying from Speck directly...even if I paid more than the "best deal out there," I'm quite certain my case was worth the money. Just how great of a deal were these cases from Speck's site anyway?

They were 50% off with an additional stackable 10% off. My total, including shipping was $24.36.

Nice price, dm. I think I paid about $35 for mine on amazon. Like I said, I don't regret not getting the absolute lowest price. I bought my case when it was still the newest model. I figure the price was worth it to keep it from possibly getting scratched or dinged. BUT, $24 is a very nice price

The price at Amazon for the case for Al macbooks is $42. My local Apple Store matched the price as best they could. They came down from $49 to $44 so I bought it and had it immediately for the two extra bucks. I just checked and the price at Amazon went up to $44.99. Good deal from the Apple Store!
