more than 2TB in a single drive case? - mattkime - 03-16-2006

a client of mine would like a drive that holds more than 2TB of data. I'm found plenty of option out there at the 2TB mark - arrays that hold five drives. Where can I find larger arrays? it just isn't quite worth if for him to go for an xserve raid - too expensive, too loud.

not cheap, i think you an find cases like this on ebay for a lot less

is this from a G5? or a peecee?

you could just get another tower, load it with drives -- get 4 port external SATA cards for the host machine and run cables to it...

heres a guide for a 4 bay, same principle

he is going to use SATA, right?

yeah, you can always go 8-bay. check http://www.barefeats.com for some reviews of multi-drive performance tests, SATA vs. FW400/800
