It wasn't about the funeral cost, it was about the unintended consequences we get when police departments come to depend on drug busts to supplement finances. Somehow or another we took what was a criminal matter and turned it into a revenue stream for local law enforcement.

Extremely poor public policy.

The interesting thing to me when I buried my companion and mother....cremations used to be less than 1,000.00 but now to make up for the money undertakers are losing the cremation with a little box container now costs 4,000.00 and so....If you buy a fancy urn...well...those go up and up.
