I'm not familiar with Minox binoculars, but as far as I know Minox has a high quality reputation. We'll see.

I remember the subminiature 8x11 "spy" camera years ago. A really excellent instrument. It was almost a cult to take fantastic pictures with it.
But I wonder if it's still the same company with the same level of excellence of those days long gone.
The binoculars look nice, similar to the Lietz Trivinoid line. But a look at the "Photography" page make Minox look more like a novelty company.
I'd jump at that deal, hoping for the best!
Let us know how they stack up.
But will they help you spot weevils in the oatmeal?!

I know! I had the same thought, but I figured that for that price and with a money back guarantee, why not?
They're due any day now and I'm anxious to see how good they are (or aren't).

Mueller rifle scopes are ground in China from german glass, and multicoated in germany. Excellent quality for the low price.
There are good optics made in China, it is just that most importers aren't willing to pay the price to have the components made well.

The package has arrived!
So far, the binoculars seem to be well made. A short trial gave us the impression that they are very sharp. The one thing that I noticed is that they are quite heavy,in fact I think that they are much heavier than my Pentax 10x42s, although I haven't compared them side by side yet.
Haven't decided whether the weight is an indication of quality or a drawback.
At least I'm not rushing to send them back as I need to do with the shoes. The shoes were too tight worn with socks (I had tried them on without socks in the store). It looks as if I should have ordered a size larger.
