Paintball laws? Some kid paintballed our house for no reason! - katkramer - 03-15-2009 Does anyone know of any paintball laws in Texas that relate to operation of a paintball gun by a minor? The little brat across the street got bored while we were out of town for a wedding, and decided to pelt our garage door, brick, and hardiplank siding with a paintball gun. They also got the transformer box in our front yard. There are casings all over our driveway and in the grass...they also got the next door neighbor, and the car of a guest at our house. I'm really mad about this, and since it's about 12:30 a.m. and we just returned we can't do anything until morning. I would like to string him up by his (paint)balls and pelt him with the little offensive fluorescent orange crap he got all over our house!! Oh yeah...and daddy's an ex-cop from L.A. This should be a fun conversation. I've already found articles on the internet showing a judge ordering jail time for the offense. Re: Paintball laws? Just don't call the emergency (911) line. Ask for someone to visit tomorrow to take the report. Re: Paintball laws? My boyfriend wants to talk to the parents first, which I think we're going to end up doing. But I want the kid to realize that he's getting off easy...check out this article...a judge tells a guy to shoot his own car or clean up the mess and do 40 hours of community service...or do 60 days in jail! http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Judge_tells_paintball_vandals_to_shoot_their_cars_or_go_to_jail.?FC=PRCK1 Re: Paintball laws? Some kid paintballed our house for no reason! - katkramer - 03-15-2009 "Judge orders vandals to paintball car" UPI News Service, 07/22/2006 An Ohio judge ordered two young men to paintball the car they were riding in when they vandalized a woman's home -- by spraying it with paintballs. Christopher Lyons, 19, and Joshua Breeding, 20, both of Madison Township, carried out the sentence in front of news cameras and a small crowd, the Willoughby (Ohio) News-Herald reported. After spattering paint on the white Ford Tempo, they had to wipe all the paint off. At a hearing in Painesville Municipal Court, Judge Michael Cicconetti also sentenced the two to perform community service, painting for Habitat for Humanity. "If they want to paint, we'll put it to productive use," he said. Cicconetti's creative sentence seemed to have had an effect on the pair. Breeding described their vandalism as "stupid."" Mine lists all the local police stations. I have the police main, tactical, and CAPS numbers programmed into my cell phone. I'm sure. Do us all a favor--call 312/747-7511 (my district HQ), tell them you'd like a car to come out tomorrow to investigate some vandalism to your property, and time how long it takes for a sarcastic response and a *click*. I've called the cops in 4 states that I've lived in, requested that someone come out to file a report and had nothing but respectful responses. Not 911. Just their office numbers. One cop showed up about 4 hours after the detective said he would. Otherwise nary a hiccup. Re: Paintball laws? Some kid paintballed our house for no reason! - Black - 03-15-2009 Please don't get me started. They wouldn't even come to the scene for an apartment break-in a few weeks ago. They take the info on the phone and send you a report in the mail for insurance purposes. A 911 call gets a response in 45 minutes if you're lucky. Often 2 hours to never. The people working the desk at the station are lazy sarcastic pr*cks (the women are actually much nastier than the men). You got me started. |
