Latest baby pics, for those interested... - PeterB - 03-16-2009 Interesting, Imageshack now has a multiuploader/gallery view option... so no bandwidth warning necessary. http://img25.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=dscn9628.jpg ... I'm really partial to the sable roan (sort of a sifted grey appearance), and the cream roan (light cream color one) is REALLY friendly... never seen anything like it, even as a youngster, he's wanting to climb into my hand and run around. Re: Latest baby pics, for those interested... - AlphaDog - 03-16-2009 They are very cute. ![]() Re: Latest baby pics, for those interested... - Linda2 - 03-16-2009 They are so cute. I love looking at your baby pictures. Thanks! Re: Latest baby pics, for those interested... - Racer X - 03-16-2009 far too few people ever get to experience the joy that is a young, well socialized and enquisitive hamster. like a furry little tank in search of a snack.........with no one at the controls..... Re: Latest baby pics, for those interested... - vicrock - 03-16-2009 Lots more variety in color in this group, PeterB. Some really pretty ones! Re: Latest baby pics, for those interested... - PeterB - 03-16-2009 vicrock, yeah, I didn't really understand the genetics of this cross. The parents are a shorthaired black female who I thought might have been dominant spot, and a longhaired satin banded Golden male who was carrying black. In the litter, I see: 1 black banded (very cute) 1 cream roan (very, very friendly) 1 satin sable banded (beautiful, but unfortunately not particularly friendly) 1 sable roan (beautiful) 1 satin Golden 1 satin Umbrous Golden 1 something I can't quite identify, but which might be satin Golden roan or satin sable roan ... in order to get these results, it means that the parents must both have been carrying cream, that the mother is Umbrous black, and that one or both of the parents has the White-bellied gene (this gene gives the roan appearance when heterozygous). I'm guessing that it's the mom who is White-bellied. |
