Two silly observations about the OS X Built-in clock. - space-time - 03-16-2009
make sure you display the analog clock in a window (not in the menu bar) and then open the date and time control panel and drag the floating clock window next to the clock in the date and time control panel.
do you notice a small delay between the two clocks? the delay is more like 1/2 second , but I managed to take a snap-shot showing 1 second difference between the 2 clocks
another thing to notice is that the second hand does not fall spot-on on the second mark, it's in between marks, like 17.5 seconds, but at bottom of the minutes (30s) and at the top of the minute (60 seconds) the second hand lines up with 6 and 12 o'clock perfectly. But at 3 and 9 o'clock is falls in between seconds.

The second hand is intended to behave like a real wall clock with gravity. Someone at Apple was bored a long time ago.

cool for a desktop, but if I keep my powerbook horizontal in bed, what do I care about gravity???

the clock's fonts and second hand colour being different is quite distracting.

Edit: wait a second... pinstripes. What version of OS X are you using?
