Follow up to earlier question about 12in lack of PCMCIA - yeoman - 03-21-2006 FWIW, I gave up trying to find a way to use a wireless PCMCIA card with my 12in PB. Then it hit me...BlueTooth. I subscribed to Cingular's MediaNet EDGE (I'm with them for voice), bought a script bundle from Nova Media http://www.novamedia.de/index_e.html, paired the Mac to the Motorola 551, and presto...now surfing at 125KB using the phone as a wireless modem. Cingular has a month month special promotion $4.99 unlimited download, offer ends 4/1, thereafter unlimited $19.99. Coverage seems OK for eastern US. If I don't like I can unsubscribe and they prorate. Re: Follow up to earlier question about 12in lack of PCMCIA - Racer X - 03-22-2006 does that burn up your minutes? Or is that covered with the monthly Media package? That is one way to do it. Re: Follow up to earlier question about 12in lack of PCMCIA - yeoman - 03-24-2006 No, doesn't use minutes. |
