For those of you that have a dog(s), Alpo is having a buy one/get one free sale. It's a 2 for 1 trial pack of their Prime Cuts in Gravy. I normally buy the 12 pack for $8.99 ($.75ea) but the 2 can trial packs were 4/$3 or $.375 per can. After asking if there were any limit on this item (there wasn't) I bought 84 trial packs and saved $63! This takes me through about 4 months with the three mouths to feed so I'm probably going to go back to another store and get more tomorrow.

If you have them in your area, I got these at Market Basket. They are probably available at other grocery chains as well. Bon apetite!

It is getting tough out there…

Man... canned dog food! Too much dinero for my 85lb and 65lb pups. I thought I was spoiling them with the 40lb bags of Eukanuba. Smile

Retirement is but a short trip down the road for me. Maybe I should stock up now.
What a deal for $.37 a meal.

many pet food companies and human food companies have the same parent corporations, and the pet food ingredients are either food waste/scraps, or components that don't pass USDA specs for humans.

That's right richorlin, you have to plan ahead these days.

Why the versatility of this canned delight approaches that of Spam. As others have mentioned it's great as a stew or in a soup and makes a dandy meat sauce over pasta. You can use this as an Hors(e) d' oeuvres (oh, I made a pun!) topping and it goes great on a Triscuit with a slice of Gub'mint cheese. Wow your friends at your next Dumpster Divers Paradise get together with your special beef stroganoff recipe. Yes, with the appropriate garnish this is the food of a thousand uses so definitely stock up now. Best of all, the cans keep forever as long as long as you don't store them too long in the hot trunk of your mobile domicile.
