I'd like to dispel a common misconception about blu-ray DVDs...

There's no such thing.

Blu-ray discs are not DVDs.

They are DVDs...just not the branded 'DVD' format as designated by the DVD consortium or whatever they call themselves. They are in fact Digital Video Discs.

Tell that to the DVD Forum.

More accurate to call BD discs UHD discs than DVD discs. The original patents and trademarks are for ultra high density optical discs.

I can verify this - I've bought Blu-Ray's in India (yes, they do sell them there) and they've worked perfectly back here.

On the other hand, we bought a PS2 game Bollywood Singstar - and that was region encoded and refused to play here. Such a pain sometimes.

DVD stands for "Dynamic Variable Disintegration"

Seriously, though, I thought it stood for nothing? Like the "S" in Harry S Truman.

Still doesn't explain the "CODE of silence" title, it's not even the usual tortured pun.
