Re: The base fine is not $20 - AlphaDog - 04-08-2009 Someone speaking from first hand experience? Re: The base fine is not $20 - kap - 04-09-2009 nope! It's from a news article my aunt sent to me. She knows I have a love hate relationship with cell phones. I use my cell at most 3 times per day for less than 10 minutes each time, if even that. I rarely do while driving. And when I do I always use an earpiece. Re: The base fine is not $20 - josntme - 04-09-2009 Someone left off the "toilet paper" refill fee. Re: The base fine is not $20 - space-time - 04-09-2009 too bad they don't enforce the law, I see drivers with one hand at their ear all the time. Re: The base fine is not $20 - Black - 04-09-2009 Hands-free is not much of a solution. The real impairment is in attention/concentration, not ability to steer hand-over-hand. Re: The base fine is not $20 - decocritter - 04-09-2009 People should be using hands free only and a minimum of that. Accidents, traffic and insurance are at a crazy high. Most people do not have the ability to give their full attention to the road, when talking on the phone or to passengers. 15 and 16 year olds have not developed enough to safely drive, and should not be licensed until 17 or 18 and their test should be difficult. In Georgia, with our terrible traffic problems, they want to only target teens for cell phone use. There are also warning signs about fines for cell phone use if you get in an accident in Dekalb County?? Why wait until then, and how do they find out, how do you enforce this? I wonder what those signs cost? With home invasion, theft, vandalism and robbery at an all time high in Atlanta, intown cops are lying in wait to catch those that practice rolling stops at all the 4 stop intersections in the area. I know 2 people that were completely stopped and got tickets anyway. The cops can't tell at night if you are stopped. The traffic is so busy, that trust me, you have to stop. People are causing accidents with jaywalking, bike riding (weaving, not stopping) and cars are speeding and running the lights at all the major intersections on busy streets. People need to come to a complete stop, but there are much worse violations going on. Put a damn light if you think it is such a problem. The cops don't even patrol the neighborhood for crime. They just show up every now and then to get local taxpayers money because they need the revenue. Re: The base fine is not $20 - Doc - 04-09-2009 Wasn't Apple smart not to include 1-touch dialing or voice-dialing on their phones! They're thinning the herd of people who like to talk on the phone while they drive! Re: The base fine is not $20 - freeradical - 04-09-2009 Black wrote: I agree. I almost got run down once when crossing the street by some woman who was yapping away on her cell phone. She was totally oblivious to what was going on around her. In her defense, she was probably talking about something important, such as where to find a pair of jeans to fit her butt, and where to get her toenails cut... Thanks Frank... Re: The base fine is not $20 - hal - 04-09-2009 I just listed to that TODAY (still working through my entire frank catalog) |
