I'm hurting for storage and was waiting on my sweet spot for 1 GB drives, but I went ahead and ordered 2 of these:
Seagate FreeAgent Pro 500GB (Triple Interface)
Reviews on Amazon suggest it's not a horrible drive, and the price is definitely discounted (still selling in the $120 range elsewhere).
The FreeAgent USB2 500 GB would have been my first choice, but it gets slammed on Amazon reviews, plus it can be had for ~$75, so the $57 is not that great a deal.
This is where you tell me why I'm going to regret my purchase (e.g. the case is actually stuffed with 5 100 GB PATA drives or something.)

Well, unless it was changed from the one I bought in the last Outlet Sale, the 500 GB triple interface drive just is not big enough for 5 drives. Well, maybe if they are 5 iPod size drives.

Read the reviews for the USB only drive, and the 3x reviews will start to look pretty rosy by comparison.

Can you post some links of those reviews? I read the amazon links regarding the 3x interface, but couldn't find ones for USB only.

I think it depends if you need/want two separate drives for redundancy. A bare 1TB drive plus a better enclosure (Rosewell or MacAlly) can be had for the same price.
