Calling all Pismo/Lombard experts! - Catzilla - 04-12-2009 I have a Lombard 333 and a Pismo 400. The Lombard runs great, the Pismo won't boot. Can I swap the 333 processor for the 400? Or if it turns out to be a logic board issue could I swap the other way around? Did all Pismos come with DVD capibility on the logic boards? TIA. Re: Calling all Pismo/Lombard experts! - Gareth - 04-12-2009 IIRC, the connectors on most/every electronic board in Lombards/Pismos are different so you can't swap between the two. Try disconnecting the PRAM battery on the Pismo (you'll see the connector if you pull the CD/DVD drive and the keyboard. A dead battery will prevent it from booting, but it should boot without it. And yes, all Pismos have built-in DVD playback capability. Re: Calling all Pismo/Lombard experts! - Buzz - 04-12-2009 yep, you need an expert, or someone w/ a very good memory... the Lombard is so last century. maybe Pismo needs a PRAM battery and/or reset? try pulling PRAM battery and main battery for the duration of your favorite sitcom, then try booting off of the wall wart... see if the old beast comes back to life. good luck. Edit = slow typer... Re: Calling all Pismo/Lombard experts! - Catzilla - 04-12-2009 Bummer. The Pismo came w/o a PRAM battery, so I guess that's not it. By "reset" do you mean the old "command option PR" at boot? Re: Calling all Pismo/Lombard experts! - Ken Sp. - 04-12-2009 Put the PRAM battery from the Lombard in the Pismo---You might be surprised. Re: Calling all Pismo/Lombard experts! - Buzz - 04-12-2009 lots of good info here... |
