for those in England with kids, free screening of Coraline on Sunday - Monster - 04-21-2009 https://www.offersinthetimes.com/cultureplus_ticket_booking/indexopen.php Based on the best-selling children’s classic by Neil Gaiman, Coraline is a fairy-tail nightmare steeped in classic storytelling, craftmanship and the old fashioned art of moviemaking magic. But when this wondrously, fantastical adventure turns dangerous and her ’other’ parents try to keep her forever, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery to get back home. Re: for those in England with kids, free screening of Coraline on Sunday - Monster - 04-21-2009 so it's that bad eh? Re: for those in England with kids, free screening of Coraline on Sunday - tenders - 04-21-2009 My 8-year-old daughter had not read the book but found this movie totally creepy, which it was. It wasn't a bad film but I regret having taken her. Re: for those in England with kids, free screening of Coraline on Sunday - voodoopenguin - 04-21-2009 Thank you for pointing this out, hope you don't mind me trying to let people know that the list of venues is in the United Kingdom, not just England. Re: for those in England with kids, free screening of Coraline on Sunday - AAA - 04-21-2009 Monster wrote: No. All movies wind their way through the 2nd-run theater market, I think. Here is the chain I am referring to. http://www.cinemark.com/tspage.asp Currently it is showing Slumdog, Coraline, Bedtime Stories, Bride Wars, Paul Blart Mall Cop, .... 50¢ is just what they charge during the week. I think it steps up to $1 and $1.50 on weekends or such. Their site says this, but it's not true. Not sure why they say the higher prices. Perhaps that's what they charge via Fandango? ![]() Re: for those in England with kids, free screening of Coraline on Sunday - decay - 04-21-2009 my daughter is 9 and liked it. she's been watching Nightmare Before Christmas for half her life, I think. Re: for those in England with kids, free screening of Coraline on Sunday - pqrst - 04-21-2009 I liked Coraline. It is definitely not a shlocky or badly done movie, but is a dark fairy tale, a bit like the classic fairy tales. I think that if a child could handle Nightmare Before Christmas or Beatlejuice, Coraline maybe for them. It is not particularly humorous or have any songs. PS: Not sure where the Cinemark discounts apply, but I wasn't able to find any inexpensive movie tickets here in Southern California. Nothing below the usual $5.50 early bird specials and nothing like $1 tickets. Re: for those in England with kids, free screening of Coraline on Sunday - decay - 04-21-2009 i sometimes forget that Beetlejuice contains an F-BOMB. there's just one, but it's a total surprise if you're not ready for it, and showing your child what you remember as a mostly family-friendly movie. just to save some of you who might consider a screening for your kid(s), or even worse, someone else's kids. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094721/board/nest/127973220 |
