Need mid-level digital with wide-angle for landscape shots - freescotland - 03-22-2006 I don't really need a digital slr for this project, just a decent digital camera with wide-angle capacity for work. I have to shoot a bunch of lanscape shots, most of which will be used on the web or fairly small in tri-fold broches and on panel cards (I realize they will be small, but that's the assignment). I'd like to keep in the $600 range or so. pRon or anyone else have a suggestion? Re: Need mid-level digital with wide-angle for landscape shots - dbow - 03-22-2006 Kodak just came out with a new camera with two lenses, one is wide angle. Might me just what you are looking for. http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/kodak/v570-review/index.shtml http://www.dpreview.com/news/0601/06010201kodakv570.asp http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=7402&pq-locale=en_US Re: Need mid-level digital with wide-angle for landscape shots - karsen - 03-23-2006 I love my Nikon D50. Paid $559 from Amazon. Re: Need mid-level digital with wide-angle for landscape shots - davester - 03-23-2006 Just a thought...if you want to do panoramic shots, just shoot a bunch of individual shots and stitch them together with one of the software packages that probably came with your regular digicam or available many other places. Re: Need mid-level digital with wide-angle for landscape shots - spearmint - 03-23-2006 That Kodak is a nifty little thing. At $339 it is on my wish list. Re: Need mid-level digital with wide-angle for landscape shots - wowzer - 03-23-2006 Nikon D50. Really awesome camera. One bit of advice...be prepared to get hooked. dSLR's are the way to go. Since buying my D50, I've shot at least several thousand pictures...this is since 12/05. Really really addicting...very engrossing...lots to learn...and very visual. I now understand why people get hooked into photography. I am getting a pretty fuzzy read on what you are trying to do. Landscaped yards or big open country? Wide angle lens or camera that goes wide and ultrawide. How wide is wide? |
