What, No Acme Store in Manhattan?? - Panopticon - 03-23-2006 Cops catch wily coyote "A wild coyote's run through Manhattan came to an end this morning when he was taken down by a tranquilizer dart in Central Park as a national audience watched live on television." http://www.newsday.com/news/local/newyork/am-coyote0322,0,4884467,print.story?coll=ny-news-columnists ![]() That coyote is really a crazy clown, When will he learn he can never mow him down? Poor little Road Runner never bothers anyone, Just runnin' down the road's his idea of having fun. ...just glad the little guy is OK ::o Re: What, No Acme Store in Manhattan?? - ka jowct - 03-23-2006 They need to tranquilize and remove the feral roller-bladers. Wiley is now in the Queens zoo, according to some news I just heard. There is some interesting wildlife in the park. A friend of mine said that there were parrots and parakeets living there (species that can live in cold climates, obviously). Cartoon Network used to run some very clever, funny faux-ads for Acme Corp. Their Acme corporate slogan was "Products that work…in theory". Someone I know had a cockatiel fly out of her house and disappear (probably because it wanted a new Mommy, but that's another story). A couple of people subsequently reported seeing a cockatiel at the Inner Harbor (just a mile or two away) hanging out in a flock of pigeons, eating the bread etc. that the tourists were throwing. I have no idea what finally happened to it. |
