use an g3 powerbook as a monitor for a pc? - Marcello Santos - 03-23-2006

psychotic question? maybe.

I have a PC with a monitor dying a horrible death. I can hardly see a thing.

Any way to use the screen of a G3 Powerbook (bronze key lombard) for another computer? How about for a PC?

Nope, unless you create some sort of driver circuitry.

You know my buddy bought a 21 inch flat screen (not LCD) CRT monitor for $25 off of CraigsList, beautiful bright picture. Folks are buying LCD's and giving away CRT's.

Decent 17" CRTs cost about four bucks at the Salvation Army Store.

Between home and office I have about six CRTs sitting around.
I remember how much I paid for them new, so it's really hard to just give them away, let alone pay to recycle them.
I guess I also kinda keep them around in case something happens to one of my LCDs.
