Disney, Jobs, Apple views from...... - samintx - 03-24-2006 CNBC takes on Apple, Disney and the future: Three things according to analyst on CNBC "Icon Steve Jobs" Mr. Young author 1. Jobs health and cancer. Will it reoccur and who would replace Jobs? 2. Disney. Jobs is spending most of his time at Disney now. Will that continue? 3. MSFT is launching a Services.com model while Apple is tied to a CPU and software. Investor's are worried about these things and where is Apple going... What do you think? Re: Disney, Jobs, Apple views from...... - Chupa Chupa - 03-24-2006 > 1. Jobs health and cancer. Will it reoccur and who > would replace Jobs? Talk about grasping for a reason to hate Apple. One could play the "what if" game all day. But I don't think Jobs is going to risk his fortune in Apple stock by not having a sucessor already picked. Anyone in Jobs inner inner circle could probably pick up where Jobs left off. If one wants to worry about Apple's future they should look at the real dollar decrease in R&D spending. That is where my concern lays. That is real not hypothetical. > > 2. Disney. Jobs is spending most of his time at > Disney now. Will that continue? Until they presents a problem at Apple who cares. So far Apple is ahead of or on time on most of it's '06 projects. I think the only delay so far is the UB version of FCP, which I guessing is being delayed until NAB. > > 3. MSFT is launching a Services.com model while > Apple is tied to a CPU and software. As if the services.com model has proved to be profitable or sucessful. Moreover, M$ IS a software company. Apple IS a primarily a hardware company. How come analysts don't criticize Dell for being too tied to CPUs? > > Investor's are worried about these things and > where is Apple going... > Personally, I'm not worried. If AAPL continues to dip I'll buy more. The Intel transition is still in its infancy. Once the Conroe based Mac Pro desktops comeout a lot of people are going to be upgrading over the course of Q4 and all of '07. Then there is the presumed real iPod video and the rumored Apple branded iTunes phone. I think Apple future for the next year and a half is nothing but up. After that Apple is going to have to show new innovation which is where my concern for the lack of R&D spending lies. Re: Disney, Jobs, Apple views from...... - samintx - 03-24-2006 Has anyone read the book I mentioned? Re: Disney, Jobs, Apple views from...... - Article Accelerator - 03-25-2006 I'm seeing more and more negative garbage about Apple lately. The FUD machine is getting warmed up--preparation for next year's release of Vista, no doubt. Apple pisses off the sheep and lickspittles so badly... |
