Do the new intelminis have video issues like the G4 minis had? - pinkoos - 03-24-2006

Hi,

Just wondering...when the G4 minis came out, so many of them had video issues in terms of not working with some LCDs or working, but having blurry, washed out appearances, etc.

Anybody know if Apple ever admitted what the problem was with those and if there's any potential for the intelminis to have the same problem? Anybody heard or experienced anything?

Thanks!

I think the issue was some looked terrible when used with CRTs.

I think that the issue with the Intelminis is that there is no dedicated video memory, so the video speed, in most cases, is slower than the G5 minis.

I had a G4 mini hooked up to my HP 17" LCD (VGA) and it looked blurry/fuzzy/washed out. However, when using the same monitor with the spanning hack on a G4 iMac, it's sharp/crisp/bright.

Just wondering if the same thing is going to happen with an intelmini.
